    Almost twice as many boys as girls have a disability - and the reason lies in their genes. A report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare shows about 9.6 per cent of boys and 5.4 per cent of girls aged 0-14 have a physical or intellectual disability. Boys are also twice as likely to have a severe disability.
